The ghost walk starts
outside the Golden Ball public house on the foreshore....
For a small fee you are taken under the protective and
historically well informed wing of Mr Gary Potts as you walk
with him between Scarborough's Ghostly locations.....
The first journey is
non too distant as it is to the rear of the Golden
Ball......The Lancaster Inn the scene of a double child
murder and suicide.......
A slightly longer walk
follows through the back streets of the old town
You reach the 3
Smuggler's Inn where there was an Evil murder of a much
respected town official....
Be prepared to be a
part of the story telling......
Going the scenic route
up the side of the castle hill......
You come to a stop at
the top of the Dog and Duck Lane area to be told of a bloody
Suicide after murder....all I can say about the character in
question is that he at least looked happy across his
As dusk comes upon us
you stroll upto the castle walls.....
Beneath the arch which
frames the north bay you are told of the
Death(Execution/murder) of King Edward II's lover Piers
Gareston seen by Mr Gary Potts and a group of Ghost walkers
during July 2000.......

At the front Gate
House of the Castle you are informed that Charles Fox,
founder of the Quaker movement was imprisoned in the castle
by King James II.....
Fox wrote to the king
saying he had to pay for his cell roof to be mended, pay for
wood for his fire and that soldiers put wevels in his bread
and did unspeakable things in his drinking
A gentle walk down the
castle hill until you arrive at Anne Bronte's grave Burial
site of A.Bronte. She came to Scarborough to take the waters
a fashionable cure for consumption (T.B.)...all three
sisters A.B.Charlotte Bronte and Emily Bronte died of
